Funding Oppportunities for Students
The Women's Society has taken many significant steps to solidify the relationship between St. Louis and Washington University in St. Louis through the funding of scholarships and grants. Our current programs are:
- Funding Grants
The Women's Society Funding Committee awards five to ten grants from $300 to $4,000 each fall based on a project's educational, cultural, and community outreach effort that enhances the experiences and quality of life for members of the Washington University community. - Elizabeth Gray Danforth Scholarship
The Elizabeth Gray Danforth Scholarship is a two-year full-tuition scholarship awarded annually to students graduating from St. Louis Community College and transferring to Washington University. - Harriet K. Switzer Leadership Award
This award recognizes senior women who have made a significant contribution to Washington University during their undergraduate years and have demonstrated exceptional potential for future leadership.
In addition to scholarships and leadership awards, the Women's Society is an enthusiastic supporter of student programs at the University through its campus project funding. In 2008-09, the Women's Society granted approximately $14,800 to 13 University projects.
