The Women's Society of Washington University (WSWU) is a group of over 600 volunteers and professional women from the St. Louis community area. WSWU was founded in 1965 to cultivate ambassadors for the University, to provide support for the University community, and to advance a reciprocal understanding of the needs and purposes of the University and the community.

Membership Benefits Include:

  • Free parking at WSWU-sponsored events

Membership Supports:

  • The Elizabeth Gray Danforth Scholarship, a two-year, full-tuition Washington University scholarship for outstanding transfer students from the St. Louis Community College
  • Town & Gown lectures and the Adele Starbird annual lecture
  • WSWU grants for campus projects benefiting student groups where other sources of funding are limited or not available
  • Harriet K. Switzer Leadership Award recognizing outstanding WU graduating women
